SILENT HEKTIK F4112se (special edition) - IUU characteristic curve controlled 30A charge controller for lead & LiFePO4 batteries with overcharge protection
The SILENT-HEKTIK F4112se is a contactless regulator and power rectifier in one housing. The modern concept using microchips enables connection to all common alternators in which permanent magnets are used. The special voltage regulation makes it possible to use lead batteries and LiFePO4 batteries. However, they must be the appropriate types for the application, not no-name batteries that are somehow welded together as a pack.
With the F4112se, the lead or LiFePO4 battery is initially pre-charged with 13.2V, which noticeably reduces the initial charging current and overheating. It then continues to charge gently until approx. 14.3V. After 90 minutes, it then switches to trickle charging. This is a perfect lead and LiFePO4 battery charging management with charging current control, which reduces overheating and overcharging by well over 90%.
IUU charging management:
The F4112se regulator can be used for both existing lead batteries and especially for modern LiFePO4 batteries thanks to the IUU charging technology.
Protection functions -se model:
At >14.6V on B+, the overvoltage function balanced OVP switches the LiMa output down to the battery plus. At >75°C, the generator lamp starts to flash quickly. As soon as the temperature falls below 70°C, the control lamp goes out. At >85°C, the regulator is switched off. Battery test when switched on with slow flashing.
The regulator is mechanically and plug-compatible with the Ducati-Energia standard regulator (343 620) used in Rotax 912 and subsequent Rotax types as well as in Jabiru engines. The -se- version is used specifically for VL3 and CT models, but is of course also suitable for all other UL models and Rotax-equipped aircraft.
When the alternator controller is in operation, up to 35W of heat is generated, which should be dissipated by appropriate (airstream) cooling to ensure safe continuous operation. Under all operating conditions, 55°C should not be exceeded in the long term. The regulator should not be installed directly next to an exhaust manifold or in the cockpit, as there may not be sufficient cooling there.
The on-board voltage is regulated largely independently of the size of the battery. The full voltage of 14.3V +/- 0.2V is only achieved at a sufficiently high speed and an optimally charged battery and must be checked with a good voltmeter after installing the controller.
